Orthodontists & GP dentists .. Decay on the distal surface of #26 (Lower right lateral)?

I have had scaling on polishing done about 2 months ago and just today I noticed the lesion on the distal surface .. it looks initial.
The case is this: I have crowded mandibular teeth .. almost unilateral (right side) with the right canine rotated (part of its lingual surface is in contact with the decayed distal surface of the lateral => plaque & calculus retention).
my question is: Is there a principle in orthodontics that allows the reduction of the lateral mesiodistal dimension (ex. filing of the carious wall without restoration) to facilitate the orthodontic treatment without the extraction of premolars?? .. note that the the only signs of crowding are the canine rotation & minor mesial tilting of the adjacent premolar .. and the opposing lateral is slightly rotated & tilted with no crowding.
I just thought if such thing exists, I can make the most of the situation .. especially since it looks initial.
BTW : I am a 22 yo male .. all 3rd molars has not erupted yet .. and I just wanted to know what to expect before taking professional consultancy.

i hope i understood.
there is a procedure called “enamel stripping” which is indicated in mild crowding. basically, as it sounds, removing 1mm from the distal and mesial side of the tooth. or maybe less.
Yes, they remove a small amount of enamel on mesial, distal of all the lower anteriors. Its called interproximal reduction, you may or may not need it. Also you can have veeners put on to straighten the lower anteriors with out orthodontics.
